Report cards will be coming home this week.  In advance to that, we thought that we would highlight a noticeable change to the Mathematics reporting.  Please read further.

In September 2020, the Ministry of Education implemented the new 2020 Mathematics Curriculum. One of the changes that came with the revised curriculum is how mathematics marks are reported in the report card.  Previously, students were assigned grades based on individual mathematical strands; with the new curriculum, students are now assigned one overall mark for mathematics.  The change recognizes, values and emphasizes the interconnected nature of the strands in the mathematics curriculum.  The comments section will describe significant strengths demonstrated by the student and identify next steps for improvement.  When appropriate, teachers may make reference to particular mathematics curriculum strands in their comments.
